Palmer Ad Agency and Financial Center Credit Union Receive Three MAC Awards from Marketing Association of Credit Unions

Credit Union Marketers Honor FCCU and Palmer Ad Creative Team for Game of Loans and Lucha Loans Promotional Campaigns

SAN FRANCISCO (August 1, 2016) – The Palmer Ad Agency and Financial Center Credit Union (FCCU) of Stockton, California, have received three MAC awards from the Marketing Association of Credit Unions for their marketing programs to promote the credit union’s loan products. Honors were given in the Point of Sale, Direct Mail, and Comprehensive Campaign categories.

Palmer Ad Agency and FCCU received a Gold MAC Award in the category for Point of Sale/In Branch Media/Retail Advertising for the Lucha Loans promotion. They also received a Silver MAC Award in the Direct Mail series for the Lucha Loans Fast Cash Preapproval mailer.

Lucha Loans developed as a fun campaign that would resonate with both the region’s large Latino community while engaging the non-Latino community as well. The promotion used cartoon wrestlers to market different credit union products and loans with the slogan, “They can’t be beat!” The Lucha Loans campaign spanned multiple forms of point of sale display, including posters, ATM ads, teller mats, tee shirts, decals, and even plush toys. As a result of the Lucha Loans campaign, FCCU realized an increase in loans, fast cash, and Visa card applications with a projected 819.3 percent return on investment.

Palmer Ad Agency and FCCU also received a Bronze MAC Award in the Comprehensive Campaign category for their Game of Loans campaign.

FCCU’s “Game of Loans” promotion was designed to attract younger members to turn to the credit union for financing. By linking the loans promotion to the popular “Game of Thrones” television series, FCCU was able to surpass its loan goals for the target demographic. The campaign resulted in a 32.99 percent increase in auto loans over the previous year, a 76.09 percent increase in Signature Loans over the previous year, and a 107.2 percent Visa limit increase over goal.
