FCCU Wins Best Point of Sale and Retail Merchandising and Complete Campaign Awards Thanks to Palmer Advertising Creative Team
SAN FRANCISCO (June 6, 2016) – Two promotional campaigns developed by the Palmer Ad Agency and Financial Center Credit Union (FCCU) of Stockton, California, have received a Diamond Awards from the Credit Union National Association (CUNA). Diamond Awards were given for the Best Point of Sale and Retail Merchandising, beating out all other entrants in that category, and the Complete Campaign category. The Diamond Awards are presented by Marketing & Business Development Council, a national network comprised of over 1,200 credit union marketing and business development professionals. Awards are given in each of 30 categories ranging from advertising to community events and beyond.

The FCCU’s Lucha Loans campaign developed with the aid of the Palmer Ad Agency was singled out for a CUNA Diamond Award in Retail Merchandising. The Lucha Loans promotion used cartoon wrestlers to promote various products and loans with the slogan, “They can’t be beat!” The promotional assignment was to develop a fun campaign that would resonate with both the region’s large Latino community while engaging the non-Latino community as well. The campaign spanned multiple forms of point of sale display, including posters, ATM ads, teller mats, tee shirts, decals, and even plush toys. As a result of the Lucha Loans campaign, FCCU realized an increase in loans, fast cash, and Visa card applications with a projected 819.3 percent return on investment.
FCCU’s “Game of Loans” promotion was also selected for a Diamond Complete Campaign Award. Palmer Ad Agency designed the promotion to attract younger members to turn to the credit union for financing. By linking the loans promotion to the popular “Game of Thrones” television series, FCCU was able to surpass loan goals for the target demographic. The campaign resulted in a 32.99 percent increase in auto loans over the previous year, a 76.09 percent increase in Signature Loans over the previous year, and a 107.2 percent Visa limit increase over goal.
